Giveon Releases Debut EP “Take Time”

After gaining buzz off the release of his latest single “HEARTBREAK ANNIVERSARY” and stealing the spotlight on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle,” Giveon has finally blessed us with his debut EP titled Take Time. The Long Beach native gives fans an 8-track project that features production by Sevn Thomas, Wondagurl, Boi-1da, and Giveon himself to name a few with mixing done by John Kercy.

Giveon describes the concept behind Take Time in three separate parts — infatuation, conflict, and heartbreak. The first couple of songs represent the infatuation phase, followed by conflict in the middle, and the last few songs end the EP in heartbreak. Ending in heartbreak was intentional, as there’s usually no quick fix to getting over a relationship; the only real remedy is to take your time.

With the current climate of things as we continue to socially distance ourselves, this project couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s a proper introduction to one of R&B’s rapidly rising stars and hopefully, this will hold fans over while we await an eventual full-length debut album.
