Upcoming Live Streams to Watch During Your Quarantine

The Show Must Go On

At this point all upcoming shows and events have been cancelled as we all begin to settle into this new reality of self-distancing and quarantine. With tours and concerts being postponed to dates that we all hope will work out, artists have begun to adapt to these unforeseen circumstances by sharing music through their screens to ours.

So make sure to tune in to support some of your favorite artists and think about using the money you would have spent on a ticket to purchase some merch or music during these difficult times. Here are 7 livestream performances that you shouldn’t miss out on.

1. Chicano Batman

Chicano Batman has a new record called Invisible People that will be released on May 1st, they had also planned a tour which sadly had to be postponed to October. The good news is that they have found other ways to share their music and connect with their audience during this self-distancing phase. They have encouraged us to flatten the curve by staying at home and have created cool activities through social media like teaching others how to play “Cycles of Existential Rhyme” on the guitar. Chicano Batman has a couple of upcoming livestreams that will involve spinning records and sharing music so tune in if you want to listen to some good beats from these guys!

2. The Red Pears

The Red Pears is another great band whose tour was sadly affected by the coronavirus. Their April shows have officially been postponed but this hasn’t stopped this Indie Rock band from continuing to perform. So if you’re in need of a good livestream show to watch make sure to tune in to watch The Red Pears acoustic session which will be followed up by a Q&A.

3.Frankie Cosmos

Frankie Cosmos Live sessions is another good set to add to the list. The Lo-Fi musician will be performing a different set of music every Friday at 9pm on IG live. So tune in Friday nights for some entertainment and “live” music.

4. The Frights

This San Diego Surf Punk Rock band has put together an “at home tour” in which they perform a stripped down version of each one of their albums during they’re live sessions. So far they have played Everything Seems Like Yesterday (2020), Hypochondriac (2018), and You Are Going to Hate This (2016). They will be performing their Self-Titled album this upcoming Saturday. So if you want to mosh in your room this weekend make sure to catch them play The Frights album on IG live.

5. Block By Blockwest

Another really cool and innovative event is Block By Blockwest which is a festival that will be held on Minecraft. There will also be virtual art galleries and opportunities to play mini games which will allow this experience to be even more engaging. This festival will be available to stream on various platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Discord. The lineup will include performances from local musicians, such as Skin Mag, Los Shadows, Billy Lemos, and Cowgirl Clue among others. So make sure to TUNE IN on Saturday April 25th for a one of a kind experience! 

6. A Live Stream Local Music Festival by Badass Bands

If you’d like to attend a festival from your couch, watch  “A Live Stream Local Music Festival” might just be the way to go. (Previously called “Couchella” until it was shut down by Coachella.) 

@Badassbandsla will be putting together a festival that will consist of 27 local artists, there will be performances as well as interviews, screenings and unreleased content. So mark your calendar and watch it HERE from your couch.

7. Coachella Documentary

Coachella, which would have been the biggest event of this weekend, has left many disappointed and looking forward to skipping through April but why not take a moment to look back at all of the other years of great performances?

Coachella has decided to change things around and allow others to re-experience moments that have passed by creating a documentary full of the best artists and performances that Coachella has had in the last 20 years. So if you’d like to sit back and enjoy behind the scene clips and past performances make sure to stream this documentary on YouTube.

8. Sofar Sounds

You can a check out Sofar Sounds and tune in to discover new artists from around the world as they host shows in their online listening room each night.

All shows are free and optional donations can be given to the featured artists.

9. Sure Sure Home Home Tour 2020

Los Angeles based indie-band, Sure Sure, will be live streaming a concert series from their home from April 10th – April 18th.

11. DIYsolation Fest

DIY Magazine is live streaming via Instagram Live all weekend from April 10th to 12th. Watch from your living room: HERE

12. Vice’s Noisey Night In

Noisey, Vice’s music platform, is joining the live stream game this weekend starting Saturday, April 11th on their Youtube channel. The purpose of their live stream is to raise money for the global music community.

13. One World Together At Home

The mainstream music industry is getting together for a cause for this historical live event on Saturday, April 18th.

Your favorite sell outs will be presenting a series of live performances to benefit the frontline healthcare workers who are working tirelessly to help combat COVID-19. 

This massive line-up by Global Citizen was curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga.

14. The Strokes Reddit AMA

The Strokes just released their new album today called The New Abnormal. Though it’s not a live stream concert, it’s definitely an honorable mention that the beloved band who recently got back together in 2019, is doing a live AMA via Reddit on Friday, April 10th at 3:30 PST.
