16 bars curated by Robert Nunez

16 bars takes a dive into artists that sprung up and became intertwined in the early 2010s changing the rap landscape. Black Hippy, OPM and Odd Future held down the West while A$AP Mob and Beast Coast (Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers) represented the East. During this time Drake was up north in Canada putting together OVO while down south Raider Klan, Members Only and Dreamville were doing big things. In the midwest, Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa held their own under Rostrum Records.

Unlike the rappers of the 90s, the new wave was known for frequently collaborating and creating projects, features, and tours 90s hip hop heads could have only wish happened with their generation. Along with the new generation of rap, there are a few influences that shaped some of these rappers such as MF Doom, Raekwon and Jay z.

Enjoy and play these songs at high volumes.

RIP A$AP Yams, Capital Steez and Mac Miller.
