Post-Show Thoughts: Vestal Village 2018.

Situated beside the base of majestic mountains resides Vestal Village, one of the most exclusive, invite-only parties during the Coachella Music and Arts Festival weekend held in a secret location.

The moment I stepped foot into Vestal Village, I left my day-to-day reality. I, along with the rest of the Nothing Mag crew, arrived having no prior knowledge or experience as to what we should expect and at the end of it all, we can say that we were pleasantly surprised! Vestal had the best of both worlds. During the day, there was a glitzy day-party and at night it all transformed to a gathering under the desert sky that they referred to as, “Vestal’s Speakeasy.”

6:30 pm marked the time the day-party ended and the night gathering commenced. While many made their way to Coachella grounds, countless others stayed at Vestal to enjoy a much more personalized experience. Vestal Village had everything Coachella had minus the overload of people. From the food, drinks, down-to-earth people, to the beautiful scenery, and killer line up, Vestal Village was the go-to destination in our book. This allowed us, the attendants, the ability to fully enjoy ourselves because there’s nothing worse than standing next to one another like sardines, right?

The Herbert Bail Orchestra performed on Saturday night in the campground nestled in the desert terrain. The Bail boys delivered a full-on experience. Singer-songwriter, Anthony Frattolillo, fronts the 7 piece band whose sound is a fusion of American folk, psych, and soul. We, the audience, felt their passion for the music they were gifting us and it’s this exact feeling that provided the perfect night party vibes. They performed with so much positive energy and love that we couldn’t help but dance our barefoot feet off!

Southern California natives, These Pilgrims, absolutely killed at Vestal as well. Having just gone through a sudden line-up change in the band, one wouldn’t have had a clue. Their new drummer, Scott Asher, beat those drums masterfully. These Pilgrims are a band that you must see live! The performance they give is hard to replicate or even imagine with only audio. So if you have the opportunity to catch those guys live, take it! Or you’ll regret it. These Pilgrims are currently working on a new album where they hope to capture their live sound so keep your eyes out for that. I have no doubt in my mind that it’ll be epic!

Cypress Hill, the Hip-Hop group hailing from South Gate, CA, closed down the weekend with a slam. Geez, what a thrill it was to see Cypress Hill perform the classics! Everyone gathered around to see these West Coast rappers conquer the stage. Vestal Village 2018 has concluded, but that does not mean you can’t still catch Cypress Hill perform. Their next big performance will be at Kaya Fest in San Bernadino, Sunday, April 29th.

Spendtime Palace, The Grinns, Kitten the band, and Professor Colombo also gave wonderful performances. They’re all true performers who master what they do on the stage like no other.

Vestal’s ultimate setup was perfectly organized. From its glitzy day-party to the night time hootenanny, we couldn’t help but feel the overwhelming sense of positivity everyone, and I mean everyone, was radiating. Cheers to all the individuals who worked tirelessly to make Vestal Village a reality this year. We’re especially thankful to all the people who we came across and shared the most personal, and uplifting conversations with.

This isn’t the end of our exclusive weekend coverage! Keep your eyes peeled on some rad video content including a recap video, an episode of Never The Last Supper with Weed Jesus, an interview with These Pilgrims, and live performances by The Grinns, These Pilgrims, and Spendtime Palace.
