The Great Red Dragon And The Woman Clothed With The Sun by William Blake
Isaac’s Mix is a monthly playlist curated by Nothing Mag Editor, Isaac Foster. Call his playlist trash all you want, he won’t pass you the aux cord.
Everything seemed so calm a month ago. On Valentine’s Day, love was truly in the air and I was able to hug and embrace the ones I love. Now there’s something else in the air and its name is COVID 19. Instead of cuddling up with bae, I have to stay six feet away from her according to Californian State Officials. The NBA has suspended their season, Broadway has been shut down, and I have not been able to buy isopropyl alcohol for days.
In the midst of this chaos, what can we do as a society? I would recommend first and foremost that everyone washes their hands regularly. Not doing so is one of the easiest ways to contract sicknesses let alone COVID-19. You should also avoid large gatherings (most of them are canceled anyway), and while you have all this free time you can listen to my playlist “the world is ending” while waiting for the brighter days ahead.
This playlist features themes that can be associated with our present day. The songs “So Many People In The Neighborhood” by Ween and “Climbing Up The Walls” by Radiohead paints paranoia in a chilly almost too realistic way. “Trouble Awful Devil Evil” by They Might Be Giants and “Feel The Pain” by Dinosaur Jr. have rather pessimistic worldviews, which I find myself holding throughout these past few days.
I know that this whole playlist seems like a huge downer, that’s the point.
